Loddon Valley Action Group Request Apology for LieIn the Public Consultation Statement written by PPS (http://www.ppsgroup.info/), and submitted by Nathaniel Lichfield and Partners (http://www.nlpplanning.com/ ), on behalf of Sandford Farm Properties Limited (no web site), there is a reference to the Composition of groups in the Consultation Programme. This the quote from page 6 that document: Composition of groups Group 1 – 11 residents were recruited, 6 attended. All live very near to site, are homeowners andknew something of the proposed development plans. 2 members declared their membership of the Loddon Valley Action Group at the end of the session. Group 2 – 11 residents were recruited, 4 attended. All live slightly further away from the site, arehome owners and varied between knowing a fair amount to nothing at all about the proposed development plans The italics, which are ours, reveal an attempt to cast our organisation as being deceitful. In fact, this is a lie. The truth is that both members initially declared their LVAG membership when invited on their doorsteps by a representative of Ipsos MORI, and then stated it again before the survey group meeting started, and offered to leave. The Survey Group was run by Ipsos MORI (http://www.ipsos-mori.com/ ), who pride themselves on being impartial, and they assured our members that their presence and views were as valid as anyone else's. Ipsos MORI have already cautioned Sandford Farm Properties Limited that survey participation is anonymous and that they are not allowed to reveal any of the participants. Loddon Valley Action Group are a volunteer pressure organisation of the local community. These are the very people who would be affected by the development of this contaminated green-field site. We are not well-paid planning consultants or super-rich land owners out to make money from yet another speculative development that erodes the quality of life of the locals. There are other lies spread around the enormous amount of documents that accompany this planning application, which will be revealed over the next few weeks, but we felt that this one needs to be nailed immediately. We have written to NLP and PPS to demand a public apology and to withdraw the statement from the application, but have received no answer. In the meantime, please submit your objections to Planning Application F2007/1690 to Wokingham Borough Council by 2nd October 2007. http://www.wokingham.gov.uk/sys_upl/templates/PT_FormBuilder/PT_FormBuilder_disp.asp?pgid=2820&tid=81 LVAG, 19th September 2007 |
